News & Updates

Ever seen magic on ice skates?  Ryan recently performed  illusions with the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities in their show "Ice Magic!"  The show played on Saturday, March 26th to a venue that was filled to capacity!.  This unique show featured all types of figure skating routines with feats of magic interspersed throughout the performance.  Over 50 skaters, ranging from age 3 to 63 showcased their pieces, which featured an underlying theme of magic.  As Master of Ceremonies, Ryan made it his goal to leave the audience in stitches while cutting the skaters into pieces!  You can view a snippet of the show here or read about this (and other magical adventures) on The Amazing Ryan Blog.  Ice Magic took place at The River's Edge in Davenport Iowa and was sponsored in part by the Davenport Parks & Recreation Department.  What an exciting event!

In other news, Ryan recently performed his magic show "The Vanishing Art" at The Main Street Theatre in Michigan City,  Indiana.  The show played to a packed house on Saturday, October 24th at 8:00pm.  This event was part of The Festival Player's Guild's Winter Arts Series.  More information available here.  

Ryan was the runner-up at the recent  Chicago Magic Competition at Navy Pier.   This close-up magic competition took place on Tuesday, July 7th, from 3pm - 5pm in Navy Pier's gorgeous Crystal Gardens.  This was the 6th Annual  Chicago Magic Competition sponsored by the Society of American Magicians - Assembly #3.  100 plus spectators attended the event which featured performances by some of Chicago's finest professional magicians.  The competition was  judged by prominent members of Chicago's entertainment community including representatives from Lifeline Theatre, Court Theatre, and Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.  This was a great opportunity to see some of Chicago's finest magical talent, learn about magic's rich history, and witness some heatlthy and fun-spirited competition.  Ryan performed some of his favorite close-up magic effects and cheered on his magical colleagues.  This was a fun event and a great opportunity to experience the magic of Navy Pier!
